These boots are wider than Normal, but not much I have a wide foot and I have a bit of room with the Wide version. I got a 10 w and I normally wear a 10.5 w...they fit ok minus the roll effect...I.e. need think socks and to lace up tight...HERES THE CATCH. The tongue on these boots has a thick stitch right across the ankle...not sure if it my pair with a defect but the seams sits right against the upper index part of both ankles and so far on day one they are causing serious discomfort and are actually starting to cause a nerve issue where the inside of my lower legs are getting numbness...going to try some high arch insoles under the padding for a bit more arch support for my high arches. The boots came with some scuffs...probably due to shipping. So boots look good and they are comfy minus the ankle thing. Just get a half size down...I’ll add an update about the ankle issue, meaning if the boots break in and it stops being an irritant after softening I’ll post it here. All in all I don’t think these are worth 175...kinda disappointed to find out weather it’s 40 or 175 the boots will hurt...they’ll just look a little better. It can be tricky to find safety toe boots that won't set off a metal detector, and these fit the bill. Slightly larger than my wolverine's so next time I'll go half a size down (I wear a 9.5 and I should have gotten a 9). The boots don't really have any arch support and I'll need insoles, but when laced all the way up, the stitched ends of the tongue digs into the balls of my ankles when I throw my insoles in. It'll probably soften up a little bit as they wear, but I'm thankful I have my old boots to switch into during shifts, and I'll keep the insoles out for the time being.Timberland Pro 6 Inch Resistor Comp Toe WP...The Good:DurableMade of quality leatherWell constructedWaterproofComp ToeThe Bad:Run a little on the big sideThe Ugly Truth:I have a ton of problems finding shoes, especially boots, that are wide enough so it is a little crazy that these boots are almost too wide, but that is a good thing. I wear a size 15 shoe and bought these in a 15 extra wide. On my feet they are a little loose. but nothing that a nice thick pair of socks can not solve. The boots themselves are incredibly well made. I have worn them on multiple motorcycle rides, which was the primary purpose for my purchasing them, and thus far they show minimal signs of wear and tear. That in and of itself is amazing given my last ten pairs of boots were all destroyed in about 60 days. The leather has a nice patina to it and the more I wear them the more the patina looks amazing, provided you like that worn in leather look. The composite toe is an awesome touch and makes me feel much safer in regards to my toes sustaining an injury should I have a wreck while wearing them.I questioned their waterproof abilities when I first tried them on but I have worn them in multiple rainstorms and never had a crop of water get through. My one and only complaint is that these boots are heavy, like REALLY heavy, like Thor's hammer heavy, BUT I have yet to buy a pair of boots in my size that are not heavy so these are not any better or worse than the competition. These were my first pair of Timberland boots, but they will not be the last!Bought for use for everyday as an aircraft fueler.Pros:VERY durableComposite toe, NOT steel toe(steel causes sparks.....jet fuel vs sparks is no bueno)Ankle support is superbHandles all day wear very wellComfy enough to wear wool socks without becoming too tightnon slip surfaceHeavy feelingCons:Can get a bit sweaty, ensure you have a good pair of socks to wick away moistureHeavy initially and takes some getting used to, but overall the safety, price, and durability outweigh this con.TIPS:Sprinkle a bit of baking soda inside to keep them smelling freshMake sure you use a good, thicker pair of cotton(or wool during winter)socks that go up mid to lower calf....it'll prevent chaffing and help with sweaty feetUPDATE 3/4/17Bought another pair because I love them so much, the original ones that I bought a year ago still have yet to show any give. Only thing I've had to change out have been the inserts. Inserts come out easily which was great because then I put in the Timberland Anti-Fatigue inserts. I bought them in XL and they fit the size 13 boot very well.I think its a decent boot, I added insoles to make them fit a little more snug, I've owned them for about 5 months now and they're still comfy (with insoles). I'm thinking of buying red wings for my next pair tho.Great out of the box comfort! I’ve owned several pairs of this particular boot. I wear the soles out on nonskid in about 18 months, but with arthritis in both ankles they’re all I wear. Never leaked in wet weatherI work in mud. This pair lasted a year, but am always ankle deep so am satisfied. They fit and like composite toe for being light. Timberlands are comfortable, and even though buying through mail without putting on have had good luck. Some other timberlands I have had "break" across the bottom but these didn't. Good boot for whatever you do.I wish the bottoms of the shoes lasted longer. Is there any way to get the soles replaced?
